Only Disadvantages:
- Not Useful for Good Quality Photo Printings: Although this Printer is sufficiently good for ordinary Photo printing (both color and black and white), it may not be much useful for good quality color or black and white Photo printing. Even if you use good-quality photo papers, it consumes excessive inks, and photos often become unclear. It is advisable to use this Printer for normal regular Printing only.
- Not useful for mass Printings: Since I already disclosed that this Printer is the best fit for home or small office uses where mass Printings are not usually required, my honest opinion is that it may not be a good choice for using it in businesses where ordinarily mass Printings (Printings in large numbers of pages) are required every day. As this Printer is not an Ink-Tank Printer and its Printings are operated through its cartridges, the ink storage capacities of the cartridges are less in comparison to the Ink-Tank Printers and that’s why it can give maximum yields of up to nearly 60 pages at a time if the cartridges are fully filled.
- Hectic Ink-Refilling Process: It is quite obvious that the inks of the cartridges initially given with the Printer will not run forever and one day you will need to find out an alternative solution for refilling or replacing those existing cartridges in order to continue to use the Printer without any trouble.
- Now if you enquire about the most preferable, proper, and brand-supported solution regarding this issue from the HP Customer Care or the User Manuals given with the Printer, you will certainly get a shocking solution for it. The solution that HP will give you will be definitely shocking for a user who decided to buy this particular Printer apparently with the expectation of getting a Printer at a relatively affordable price compared to other Printers available in the market. This is because HP will ask you to buy new Cartridges every time whenever the inks of your existing cartridges are exhausted. A set of two cartridges (both Black and Color) will cost you approximately Rs. 1500 and again such cartridges will give yields of approximately 60 pages only. They will categorically ask you not to go for refilling the existing cartridges contending that refilling of cartridges is not supported by the brand and may also damage the Printer. Thus buying the cartridges every time to replace the existing cartridges whenever the inks of those existing cartridges get exhausted is indeed very expensive.
- At that time, it may appear to you that you have committed a big mistake by buying this Printer due to the troublesome and expensive Ink- refilling process because despite getting this at a decently affordable purchase price, its post-purchase expenses are starkly unreasonable.
Wait! The story is not over yet. Don’t worry about the ink-refilling issue. Before you make up your mind not to buy this Printer due to its troublesome ink-refilling process, I would like to disclose some easy solutions and I can assure you that these hacks will 100% resolve this particular issue.
An easy solution to get through the ink-refilling problem:
Don’t bother with what is advised by HP, and blindly go for the following solutions for refilling the cartridges without any issues-
- Solution- 1: Buy the HP Ink Bottles of Black, Yellow, Magenta, and Cyan and use the ink refilling tool kits as shown in the picture given below to refill the existing cartridges-
- Insert the cartridges in the L-Shape structure and very carefully inject the inks from the ink bottles into the holes on the back sides of the cartridges using a syringe. You need to do this job with utmost caution to avoid falling out of the inks from the cartridges and save the inks from unnecessary wastage. The approximate costs of arranging all these ink bottles and the tool kits may be Rs. 2000 and these will be merely one-time expenditures. A fully refilled cartridge will give a minimum yield of 60 pages or more. You need not buy new cartridges every time whenever the inks of existing cartridges will get exhausted. Moreover, the inks of ink bottles if used cautiously, may run up to at least one year and may give yields of approximately 1000 pages. Thus, you can get rid of the hectic and expensive process of buying the cartridges again and again and save around Rs. 18000 in the entire year.
- [Note: Here, I would like to categorically advise you to only use original HP Ink Bottles which are commonly used in Ink-Tank Printers, and stay away from using Ink Bottles of other non-HP brands or other cheap and unoriginal inks available in the market because such unoriginal inks may damage the cartridges as well as the Printer].
